The McLaren MP4/4 was probably one of the best F1 car ever, since it won 15 out of 16 races in 1988. Maybe it was more successful than the Mercedes was this year. (winning 16 out of 19 races)

The car was great but they also had two great drivers racing :) I would say that car was more dominant than the Mercedes this year.
